New Grant Program Available for Charitable Organizations
The State of Ohio has announced a grant program administered through the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services (ODJFS). The program, designed to assist charitable organizations, will distribute $25 million in CARES Act funds. Key details on the program include:
- Funds are designated for 501(c)(3) organizations that have been impacted by COVID-19 and serve low-income residents or at-risk Ohioans in industries excluding health care, education, recreation and/or cultural activities
- Grants are limited to the amount the charity has paid in total unemployment charges from March 15, 2020, through the most recent information available to ODJFS, minus any federal reimbursement for those unemployment charges
- Applications are due by November 27
- Notifications of approval or denial will be sent by December 11 and funding will be distributed by December 21
